Well, it's finally happened. The "don't get between me and my food" time. With Kaycie I wasn't hungry throughout the day, but at meal times I would eat almost double portions. This time around I honestly don't think I can go longer than an hour without food. For example, this morning I packed: two tuna salad sandwiches on wholewheat bread, four mini yogurts, a sandwich bag of cut up strawberries, and a few handfuls of unsalted (cooking) sunflower seeds. That sounds pretty reasonable for a day at work doesn't it? Until you realize that I'm only here until 11:30am today. That's right, that is only to get me through until lunch!
I guess I should feel lucky that at meal times I'm only eating normal portions. The first week that I knew I was pregnant I dropped 10lbs (thank you stress and morning sickness!). I still haven't gained it all back so technically the extra eating hasn't caused me to go above my pre-pregnancy weight yet. 13 weeks in I think the average is 3-5lbs. I honestly feel bad for anyone who has to hang out with me. Every hour - as soon as I get hungry - my mind starts to wander and all I can think about is where I can find more food!
My grocery bill is going to sky rocket.
I'm off to the specialist this afternoon for the NT scan. Fingers crossed that this increased appetite is a good thing!
