Canada Day!

Yesterday was Canada Day and by far, my favourite holiday of the year! For the past 10 years we've always made a day of it with Yasmin, myself, and the kids. Sometimes we invite the men in our lives. I kid! They're always welcome!

Our city does a great job with Canada Day. It takes place in a huge park with rides set up for the littler kids. There are also plenty of booths selling all kinds of stuff and of course...one of my reasons for happiness yesterday...junk food!

Looking at the pictures of myself from yesterday I realized a few things. I may only have gained 2lbs so far (yes, I weighed myself this morning and that didn't even change after all the junk I ate yesterday!) but my body has definitely changed. I look, what's the word...round! I need to buy some form fitting maternity clothes. Something where people can say "yeah, she's pregnant." Rather than: "is she fat?" And my ass...where did that come from? Oh well, I throughly enjoyed all the crap food. A hot dog, bag of popcorn, two sno-cones, and a chocolate covered banana. Not that I was keeping track or anything. I probably could have eaten more, but felt bad because no one else was!

Some special photos from the day:

Shereen and Yasmin (sisters)

James - Yasmin's third child and oldest boy. Love the red in his hair! They were doing this for free at the park and it brushes/washes out really easily.

Baylee - Yasmin's second child and youngest girl. Love the colours in her hair too. Don't let the innocent look fool you, she is a pure terror and I love every second of it!

Payge and me - I love this picture although I'd love it more if I wasn't in it! I took Payge to Canada Day in the Park when she was 4 turning 5. She'll be 14 this summer. And yes, that's not the ground or the camera angle, she is actually taller than me. Notice what I mean about the roundness? Definitely need to go shopping soon. Might as well show off the baby bump!

Payge - Payge is Yasmin's first child and oldest daughter. Payge is how Canada Day all started many years ago. Here's hoping that she doesn't shun us on Canada Day as we enter the teen years!

George - Yasmin's fourth child and youngest boy. Love, love, love his onesie! Can't wait for next year when he's old enough to really enjoy all the fun to be had. Hard to believe that we called him "shrimp" for the longest time. Shereen has now upgraded his name to "jumbo shrimp."

Had to get a picture of me with my new hat! Love the smile on my face, but hating the roundness! An old wive's tale says that means it's a girl. I honestly don't know, but that's a blog post for another day. Can't wait for next year already when we get to celebrate all over again. Next year with my sister here as well, and of course...beer! Fingers crossed that Yasmin doesn't get pregnant again.
